Toronto – Creative City Assignment

toronto

This was an assignment from our digital branding class. The purpose was to create a website that was part of a larger campaign to convince creative people to move to Toronto. My concept was to create two opposing views of Toronto: as a fun, exciting city for young creatives to explore and enjoy themselves, and as a more laid-back place to work and even raise a family. I created the colour scheme to reflect this as well (dark, but with really bright, and cheery accents).

My goal with this website was to make it professional, yet friendly. To do this I used conservative typography and colours but used large images, and small blocks of text to make the site more inviting.

Ian Kamau

iankamau

Ian Kamau is an artist, poet, and musician that lives in Toronto. For a class project we were asked to find a creative person of some sort and work with them to create a website. Ian already had a lot of content posted on various sites such as blogger and earwaks. We decided to combine all of his various blogs into one, using his signature unfinished hand drawn visuals as inspiration.
